Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the heart of Turin, Albergo Avalon stands as a charming beacon for those seeking an authentic Italian experience. Its strategic location, just a stone's throw from the bustling Porta Nuova railway station, made it an ideal base for our recent exploration of the city's historic treasures, including the renowned Mole Antonelliana and the Egyptian Museum. From the moment we arrived, the attentive family service enveloped us in warmth, a delightful contrast to the usual impersonal atmosphere of better-known establishments. Our air-conditioned room offered a cozy retreat after a day of wandering through the famous arches and sampling local culinary delights in nearby cafés. The hotel boasts a lovely terrace, perfect for unwinding with a glass of craft beer, which I always seek out in my travels. With free Wi-Fi throughout the property, I found it easy to document our adventures and recommend local breweries to fellow enthusiasts. Albergo Avalon may not have a lift-its charming heritage includes a 19th-century palace-but the atmosphere and service more than compensate for this small inconvenience. As a travel writer and beer lover, I can attest that its perfect blend of homey charm, proximity to cultural landmarks, and delightful service elevates it beyond a mere place to stay; it truly enriches the travel experience.
